Each tube has extra-thick walls to help withstand multiple freezing cycles and is made from polished, low-binding virgin polypropylene. Tubes are supplied capped and are certified DNA, DNAse, RNAse, pyrogen and endotoxin free. Caps can be removed manually (see our single and multi-tube decapper/pickers) or using an automated decapper/picking system.

The bottom of each individual tube is precision laser-etched with a unique 12 digit 2D matrix using a ‘wet-on-wet’ process. This process means that the black components, which carry the 2D code, cannot be separated from the tubes through mechanical, chemical or thermal influences. This helps ensure samples have maximum code security with optimal legibility even at cryo-temperatures.
